Have you ever had a handful of different people tell you the same thing over and over? If so, you and I are in the same boat, my friend. Over the last several months I’ve been told by different friends and family members in different circles that I should start a blog. My first thought: ME!? What would I even say. And who would listen to ME?
And then the insecurities start, right? What if I do all the work (and oof; it’s been a morning trying to set all of this up), and I start the blog, and then no one follows me, except my mom? (Hi Mom!) But is that a good reason to not try? No; no it’s not.
So, here I am. Starting my first blog. I guess I should introduce myself a little bit. But instead of the traditional questions, let’s move past that. Chances are, if you’ve gotten this far you already know a little bit about me, like that my name is Christina.
- What are you going to write about? Well, the short answer is I’ve come up with this cute acronym for the ABCs: Adventure, Boy Motherhood, and Christian Community. The longer answer is, even if it doesn’t fit into one of those categories, I’m probably going to write about it if I want to.
- Adventure: My boys, ages 4 and 5, and I go adventuring every Monday to different places around where we live, which is outside of Houston, TX. So I’m sure I’ll be documenting our explorations along the way.
- Boy Motherhood: I am CONVINCED that any mom who has clean hair, clean dishes, all of the clothes in her house are clean, and a clean house is from another planet. Motherhood of young kiddos is HARD! But brilliantly hard. I’m gonna keep it real about the ups and downs and all of the feels. I’m also dipping my toe into the homeschooling scene; so I’m sure that there will be posts about that too.
- Christian Community. My relationship with Jesus is the most important part of my life. Living in true, genuine, authentic community is a huge passion of mine. As so much of the world is going digital, we as a society are less connected than we have ever been. How do we change that? I’ll be sharing my thoughts. I also have a huge passion in sharing genuine truths from the Bible about what Jesus said; there are times where the Church hasn’t gotten it right, and we need to own that. My life isn’t rainbows and sunshines just because I love Jesus, and I’m not going to pretend that it is.
If I haven’t lost you yet, then thanks for reading. And subscribe with your email so you can stay up to date when my inspiration strikes next!
